CSS Women Run to a Fourth Place Finish

PELLA, Iowa (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's cross country team placed fourth in a field of nine teams at the Pre-Regional meet Saturday in Pella, Iowa.

Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) and Liz Braml (Turtle Lake, Wis./Turtle Lake HS) finished 16th and 17th in the meet with times of 24:30.7 and 24:32.7, respectively earning 15 and 16 points for their team.

Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) placed 21st with a posted time of 24:37.7 just five seconds behind Braml. Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was 32nd posting a time of 25:19.0. The final Saint to score was Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) with a time of 25:25.7, good enough for 36th

Carleton College took home a first place finish with seven runners placing in the top 12, including the top finisher junior Ruth Steinke who ran a time of 2:44.2 crossing the finish line eight seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

The Saints women will next be running on Saturday, September 20th in Northfield, Minn for the St. Olaf Invitational with the action set to begin at 11 a.m.
