GREEN BAY, Wis. (csssaints.com) – Junior
Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) took the individual title on Saturday at the season-opening Tom Barry Invitational as the St. Scholastica men's cross country team placed fourth overall.
Lawson won with a time of 21:04 and defeated the rest of the field by nearly 15 seconds.
Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) also finished in the top 10 overall, placing seventh (scored sixth) with a time of 21:56.7.
Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) was 24
th overall, posting a time of 22:59.3.
Tim Dunstan (Dollar Bay, Mich./Dollar Bay HS) was 33
rd with a time of 23:29.4. The final CSS runner to score was
Josh Trosen (Hackensack, Minn./Nevis HS) as he edged teammate
Victor Pilon (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) for 46
th with a time of 24:29.6.
The host, St. Norbert College won with 65 points. The Milwaukee School of Engineering was second with 70 points. Lake Forest College (Ill.) was third with 104 points. CSS finished with 110 points ahead fifth place Wisconsin Lutheran College who had 116 points.
The Saints will be in Pella, Iowa next Saturday for the Pre-Regional Meet hosted by Central College. Action begins at 9:30 a.m.
