Falcons Sweep Saints

Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The ninth-ranked St. Scholastica women's hockey team fell again to sixth-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls 3-0 Saturday afternoon.

There was no scoring until the second period when the Falcons (12-3-2) lit the lamp on a power play.  Alice Cranston scored her fifth goal of the season as she was assisted by Kait Mason and Brianna Breiland.

In the third period Karleigh Wolkerstorfer found the back of the net midway through the period.  Wolkerstorfer was assisted by Dani Sibley.

Just over six minutes later Breiland scored the Falcons' third and final goal assisted by Crysta Lowell and Emily Stark.

Lindsey Hartfiel (Big Lake, Minn./Buffalo HS) stopped 24 shots for the Saints and Falcons goaltender Ashley Kuechle Stopped 28 shots. The Saints out-shot the Falcons 28-27, including 17-9 in the final period. CSS has now been shut out three straight games, which is the first time that has happened in program history.

The Saints (9-5-2) will travel to Mequon, Wis. next weekend to play a conference series against Concordia University (Wis.).
