Men's Cross Country Posts a Runner-Up Finish at LumberJack

ASHLAND, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's cross country team finished 12 points behind the University of Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday at the four-team LumberJack Classic, hosted by Northland College.

The Saints finished with 36 points, while UMD took home first with 24 points. Northland and Gogebic Community College each finished with 96 points.

For the second straight race, Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) led the Saints as he finished third individually with a time of 27:29.1. Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) was fourth overall, posting a time of 27:35.4. Charlie Habermann (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) came across the line in ninth with a time of 28:06.3.

Kelin Dunfee (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Central HS) was 14th finishing in 28:59.7. Rounding out the scoring for the Saints was Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) in 17th with a time of 29:53.7. Tim Dunstan (Dollar Bay, Mich./Dollar Bay HS) and Brian Riley (Redwood Falls, Minn./Redwood Valley HS) placed 19th and 20th, respectively.   

The Saints will be in action again next Saturday at the St. Olaf College Invitational. Race time is scheduled for 10:45 a.m.
