DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team will host Finlandia University at Mars Lakeview Arena for a two-game series this weekend in the home and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) openers for the Saints.

-The Saints opened the season at former conference member University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire last weekend. CSS tied Friday night's season opener 2-2, and took Saturday's contest 4-0.

Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) leads the Saints with two goals, and younger sister
Isabel Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Graubunden Canton School (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) leads with three assists. Both picked up four points over the two games.

Lindsey Hartfiel (Big Lake, Minn./Buffalo HS) recorded her first career shutout in her first collegiate start in the 4-0 win on Saturday.
-Special teams were strong for the Saints in their first outing, as their penalty kill is sitting at 100 percent and power play at 28.6 percent.

-The Lions started out the season by dropping both games to Concordia University (Wis.). They lost the first game 8-2, but improved to only lose the second game 2-1.
-Theresa Wolf, Sierra Rusinek, and Siera Hache all recorded a goal in the series opener.
-Breanna Hynes started game two of the Finlanida series with Concordia-Wisconsin after making just five saves in game one. She was excellent in game two, stopping 35 of 37 shots and not giving up a goal in the second or third periods.
-Finlandia was picked to finish last in the NCHA, according to the preseason coaches' poll.
