PREVIEW: Women’s Hockey Welcomes Lake Forest this Weekend

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team will host a streaking Lake Forest College (Ill.) squad on Friday and Saturday at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Record: 9-5-3, 6-4-2 NCHA

  • The Saints are coming off a 3-3 tie against then 10th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday.
  • Goaltender Teraysa White (Belgrade, Maine/Brewster Academy (New England College)) made a season-high 35 saves in the Saturday tie.
  • The Saints were just 1-for-10 on the power-play in the two-game series with the Yellowjackets and allowed a pair of short-handed goals on Saturday.
  • CSS had a season-low 14 shots in Friday's loss to UWS.

  • Lake Forest comes into the weekend hot, winners of seven straight games, the third-longest unbeaten streak in the nation.
  • During the winning streak, the Foresters have allowed more than one goal in a game just once.
  • Lake Forest has given up just two power-play goals in 18 chances during that span.
  • The Foresters swept conference leader Adrian last weekend.
  • The Foresters have yet to lose this season on the road with a 3-0-3 record.
  • Freshman forward Melissa Paluch leads the team with 11 assists and 21 points.
  • Paluch is tied with fellow freshman Michelle Greeneway with a team-high 10 goals.
  • Paluch is second in the country in points per game by a rookie at 1.4 per game. Greeneway is tied for third at 1.36.
  • After not playing the first nine games of the season junior goaltender Stacey Dierking has been tremendous in goal the last six games with a 0.85 goals-against-average and a .962 saves percentage. Both of those numbers lead NCAA Division III.
