PREVIEW: Football Welcomes the Aerial Attack of Eureka on Saturday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica football team will bring a 13-game conference winning streak into Saturday's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener against Eureka College (Ill.) at Public Schools Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

  • The Saints saw a 14-game regular season winning streak come to an end last Saturday with a season-opening loss to Whitworth University (Wash.) 28-13.
  • Sophomore quarterback Tyler Harper (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns and also led the team with 48 rushing yards in his first collegiate start.
  • Nick Thiry (Braham, Minn./Braham HS) hauled in six passes for 62 yards and a touchdown.
  • Alec French (Isanti, Minn./St. Francis HS) led the defense with a career-high 13 tackles
  • Saturday's game at Public Schools Stadium will be the last this season. CSS will be at UMD's Malosky Stadium next week for Homecoming and then play their final two home games at the new Duluth East field.
  • The Saints enter this week's game with a negative turnover margin for the first time since entering the Trinity Bible game in 2009.
