Men’s Cross Country Competes at Blugold Invite

COLFAX, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's cross country team was 13th out of 17 teams on Friday at the Blugold Invite, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The host, UW-Eau Claire, won the meet with 28 points. Lakehead University out of Ontario was second with 114 points. Luther College (Iowa) was third with 120 points. The Saints finished with 346 points.

CSS was led for the second consecutive week by freshman Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village), who posted a time of 26:28 and finished 39th overall. Charlie Habermann (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) was the second Saint to cross the finish line in 53rd with a time of 26:43.

Ethan Schubert (Two Harbors, Minn./Home School) was 65th overall with a time of 27:04. Ben Carlson (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS (Saint Mary’s)) placed 89th overall with a time of 27:42 and the last CSS runner to score was Sam Toso (Falcon Heights, Minn./Roseville HS), who crossed the line in 100th with a time of 28:36.

The Saints will be back in action next Saturday when they take part in the 27th annual University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational. The race the Saints will compete will begin at 10:40 a.m.
