DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica football team will be away from Duluth for the first time this season when it travels to New Ulm to take on Martin Luther College on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Record: 2-1, 2-0 UMAC

  • CSS is coming off a dominating 45-3 victory over preseason favorite Greenville for its fourth straight Homecoming victory.
  • The Saints have never won at Martin Luther in program history.
  • This will be the first road game of the season for CSS, who won by an average of 27.7 points during the regular season away from home last season.
  • The Saints have won nine straight games away from Duluth. The last defeat for the Saints on the road came against Martin Luther in 2010.
  • Kicker Mike Theismann (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Apollo HS) is a perfect 5-for-5 in field goals attempts in his career. In fact the Saints have not missed a field goal attempt in program history (10-for-10).

  • Martin Luther is coming off 26-7 loss to Westminster College (Mo.) last week.
  • In that game, the Knights had turnovers on each of its first six possessions.
  • The Knights have been turnover prone this season, fumbling 20 times in the first three games and losing 13 of those.
  • Unlike the Saints, the Knights owned the middle portion of games, outscoring teams 37-9 in the second and third quarters, but being outscored 39-6 in the first and fourth quarters.
  • Matthew Olson and Josh Rathje have split time at quarterback as each have completed around 39 percent of their passes and both have thrown two touchdowns.
  • Luke Rothe has 10 receptions for 155 yards and two scores on the year.
  • Olson and Rothe are also the top two rushers on the team with both accumulating over 100 yards this season.
  • Derek Loewen leads the defense with 34 tackles, including six for a loss.
  • The Knights were picked to finish seventh in the conference this season, according to the preseason coaches' poll.
