DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's and women's basketball teams will be on the road for their final two games of the regular season as they will face off vs. the University of Minnesota-Morris on Friday and the Presentation College on Saturday.

The Saints split this past weekend as they defeated Martin Luther College 77-55 on Friday night as
Chris Hamers (Onamia, Minn./Onamia HS) scored 18 of his 23 points in the first half. On Saturday night the Saints fell to the #1 team in the UMAC, Bethany Lutheran College, 62-49.
MarShaan Johnson (Minneapolis, Minn./Minneapolis North HS (Minneapolis Comm. & Tech. College)) led the way for the Saints with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.
St. Scholastica Saints (12-11, 9-3 UMAC)
The Saints will either be the second seed or the third seed in the UMAC Tournament next week, which is obviously important because the No. 2 seed hosts the semifinal game next Wednesday … CSS doesn't necessarily need to win both games this weekend to have a chance at the No. 2 seed, but that is their best option of course … If CSS and Northwestern College finish with the same record and NWC defeats BLC on Friday, NWC gets the No. 2 seed …
Brett Tester (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) leads the team in scoring and rebounding for the season, averaging 17.8 ppg and 7.6 rebounds per game (rpg) … Tester has been named UMAC Player of the Week three times on the year … Hamers is the only other player averaging double figures in points with 14.3 ppg … Hamers leads the team in 3-point shooting as well, shooting 41-percent from beyond the arc on 186 attempts and is fifth in the nation with 3.7, 3-pointers per game …
Jonah Dahlman (Braham, Minn./Braham HS) is tops on the team in the assist category averaging 4.4 per game …

Derek Steve (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Apollo HS) back this weekend after missing last weekend due to illness … CSS shot only 30-percent from the floor vs. Bethany Lutheran on Saturday, which was its second-worst shooting performance of the season.
Minnesota-Morris Cougars (9-14, 5-7 UMAC)
The Cougars have a game advantage for the fourth final UMAC Tournament spot this weekend … Crown College and Presentation College sit a game back, while Northland is two game back, but did defeat the Cougars the first time around … Derek Schmidt and Brendon Foss are leading the team in scoring with 14.2 and 10.4 points per game, respectively … Schmidt leads the UMAC, making 55-percent of his shots from the floor … The Cougars have five players averaging four plus rebounds per game and are outrebounding their opponents 35.7.-31.8 … Brodie Raymond is shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc … The Cougars are scoring 67.9 points per game, while giving up 71.2 points per game on defense … Morris leads the conference in rebounding margin at +3.9.

Presentation Saints (8-15, 4-8 UMAC)

The Saints won both games this past weekend first by defeating the number one team in the conference, Martin Luther College, by a score of 69-59.
Mariah Hovick (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) led the way for the Saints scoring all 14 of her points in the second half. CSS continued their winning ways as they defeated Bethany Lutheran the next night by a score of 65-50 with Hovick again leading the way with 17.
St. Scholastica Saints (11-12, 9-3 UMAC)
The Saints have won eight of nine games and finished the season with a perfect home record in conference play … That is the first time that has happened since the 1997-98 season … The Saints currently sit in third place in the conference after beating conference leader Martin Luther this past weekend and with two wins this weekend will secure a home playoff game … The Saints can finish anywhere from the No. 1 through the No. 3 seed, sitting just one game behind both Minnesota-Morris and Martin Luther … Freshman
