Martin Luther Invitational Results
DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's cross country team sent some of its runners to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational, while the rest went to the Martin Luther College Invitational in New Ulm.
At the Brooks Invitational,
Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) led the Saints placing 103rd overall with a time of 26:48.
Ethan Schubert (Two Harbors, Minn./Home School) was one second back of Lawson and finished in 106th.
Charlie Habermann (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) was the third CSS runner to cross the finish line in a time of 27:11 and was 133rd.
Ben Carlson (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS (Saint Mary’s)) was 175th overall with a time of 27:54.
John Hunn (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was the final Saint to score in 217th overall with a time of 29:11.
Calvin College (Mich.) won the meet with 52 points. North Central College (Ill.) was second with 58 points and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was third with 93 points. CSS finished 25th with 734 points.
At the Martin Luther College Invite, the Saints placed third out of the six Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) schools taking part in the meet with 67 points.
Ryan Soule (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) led the Saints finishing sixth overall with a time of 29:50.
Tim Dunstan (Dollar Bay, Mich./Dollar Bay HS) was 10th with a time of 30:14.
Jared Eickhoff (Paynesville, Minn./Paynesville HS) crossed the finish line next in 14th place, posting a time of 30:48.
Austin Gessell (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls HS) came home 16th overall in a time of 31:22. The final Saint to score was
Neil Thomforde (Drummond, Wis./Drummond HS) in 21st with a time of 32:00.
The University of Minnesota Morris won the meet with 38 points, while Martin Luther was second with 64 points.
The Saints will be in action next as a whole team in a couple of weeks at the UMAC Championship meet at the same Martin Luther course some of the runners just competed at.
