St. Scholastica Saints (10-4-3, 8-3-1 NCHA)
The Saints have definitely had the turnaround they were looking for in year two of the program. After a 7-16-2 (5-13-2 NCHA) record in their inaugural season last year, St. Scholastica now enters the final third of their season tied for third place in the conference with plenty of opportunity to earn home ice in the O'Brien Cup. The Saints have been led this year by freshman standout
Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) who has a conference best 22 total points on 13 goals and nine assists. Her sister
Monika Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftsschule KV Chur (Swiss National Team)) and Captain
Michelle Fischer (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) are right behind her with 18 points each. M. Waidacher has seven goals and 11 assists while Fischer has five goals and a team and conference best 13 assists.
Jordy Klimek (Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) is a fourth Saint to have double figures in points this year with 15 on seven goals and eight assists.
Shannon Connolly (Toronto, Ontario/Havergal College) and
Sheridan Friesen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Ontario Hockey Academy) have split time in goal this season earning 6-2-2 and 4-2-1 records respectively. The tandem has a 2.54 goals against average while St. Scholastica averages scoring 3.47 goals per game.
St. Norbert Green Knights (7-11-0, 5-8-0 NCHA)
After beginning the season 4-4-0 (2-2-0 NCHA), the Green Knights dropped their next five games, four of which were to conference opponents. Since that point St. Norbert has won more games than they've lost and are just hanging on in a tie for the final spot in the O'Brien Cup Playoffs. Andrea Senne leads the team this year with six goals and a team high nine points. Henriette Ostergaard and Ali Parker are right behind her with eight points and Lotta Haarala leads the team with six assists. Katie Aluia has gotten the most starts of the three goaltenders for the Green Knights and has a 5-4-0 record in nine games on record. Aluia has a great 1.29 goals against average and a .954 save percentage.
