The St. Scholastica women's hockey team will face off with the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons in a weekend series and home opener for the team at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Last Action: The Saints completed a weekend sweep of the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds winning both games 4-3 last weekend.
Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) had six total points on the weekend to lead the Saints to victory.
St. Scholastica Saints (2-0-0, 2-0-0 NCHA)
The Saints couldn't have asked for a better start to the season after not only sweeping the Blugolds, but doing it on the road in Eau Claire. Waidacher has six points on two goals and four assists. Captain
Michelle Fischer (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) added five points on two goals and three assists and Waidacher's older sister,
Monika Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftsschule KV Chur (Swiss National Team)) had one goal and four assists for five points of her own.
Shannon Connolly (Toronto, Ontario/Havergal College) and
Sheridan Friesen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Ontario Hockey Academy) each started a game to start the season with Connolly making 23 saves and Friesen making 31 as they both start the season with a victory.
#5 Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons (2-0-0, 2-0-0 NCHA)
River Falls is also off to a good season start after sweeping conference foe Adrian last weekend and scored five goals in each game. Brook Story leads the way with four points, all on assists though. Goal leaders for the Falcons are Alice Cranston, Alyssa Black and Bre Drude, all with two. Melissa Deardorff and Ashley Kuechle made 20 and 22 saves respectively last weekend in winning efforts for UWRF.

The Saints and Falcons last met in January of last year where the #2 ranked River Falls team eked out with a 1-0 victory on a third period goal.
