DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team gets back to action this weekend, once again playing in the Quality Inn & Suites Turkey Shootout, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday and Sunday.

The Saints struggled with the College of Saint Benedict at the MIAC/UMAC Challenge last Saturday, falling 95-46. Freshman Mariah Hovick (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) led the Saints with 12 points.

St. Scholastica Saints (0-3)
In two of the first three games this season, the Saints have held second half leads against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and St. Catherine University … Against UWEC, the Saints led by four in the second half and was in front for the first seven minutes of the half, before relinquishing the lead for good … Against St. Kate's, CSS was ahead by as much as eight in the second half and led for the first 11 minutes of the half, before the Wildcats took over the lead for good … The Saints are coming off their worst shooting game of the season against St. Ben's and committed a season-high 28 turnovers in the loss … Sammy Doucette (Colfax, Wis./Colfax HS (UW-River Falls)) leads the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game, including a career-high 19 points vs. St. Kate's on Friday … Hovick is second on the team in scoring (8.7) and leads the team in rebounds (13) and steals (9).

UW-Stout Blue Devils (1-3)
The Blue Devils have dropped their last three games, since winning the season opener against Crown College … Stout is coming off a big 59-point defeat to Division II St. Cloud State on Tuesday night … Whitney Rawdon leads the team in scoring through the first four games with 12.5 points per game … Rawdon also is the team leader in rebounds per game (5.0) … Sami Schroeder is also averaging in double figures with 11 points per game …  Schroeder was an honorable mention All-WIAC selection a season ago … The Blue Devils have been picked to finish sixth in the conference, according to the WIAC preseason poll.

The Blue Devils closed the first half on an 11-0 run and then took control in the second half to win 77-55 at the 2010 Quality Inn & Suites Thanksgiving Shootout. Laura Amys (South Range, Wis./Superior HS) had nine points off the bench to lead the Saints.

The Warhawks opened the season preseason-ranked 21st in the D3hoops.com poll … Whitewater opened with a pair of wins over Carroll University (Wis.) and Whitworth College (Wash.), but fell in its last contest with Millikin University (Ill.) on Sunday … The Warhawks also plays tonight against Illinois Wesleyan University, whom is ranked 17th in the D3hoops.com poll … Mary Berg is averaging a team-high 19.3 points and 5 rebounds per game for the Warhawks this season … Cortney Kumerow is averaging 15.3 points and Kaitlyn Thrill is at 10 points per game … The Warhawks have been picked to finish second in the WIAC, according to the preseason poll.
