The Saints women's hockey team fell to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons 5-2 at Mars Lakeview Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The loss to the Falcons (4-0-0, 4-0-0 NCHA) was the second in as many nights for the Saints as UW-RF completes the weekend sweep.
The scoring started in the first period tonight as Allie Olson scored six and a half minutes in unassisted to give the Falcons a 1-0 advantage.
The Saints would answer when
Monika Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftsschule KV Chur (Swiss National Team)) put in an equalizer four and a half minutes later on an assist from her sister

Just as the Falcons did last night, they went ahead just nine seconds later when Alyssa Jackson found the net on an assist from Lauren Schweppe to make it 2-1 UW-RF.
River Falls went on to score another in the first when Brook Story scored on a Katie Batters assist to make it 3-1 Falcons heading into the first intermission.
Just three minutes in to the second period, N. Waidacher would score on an assist from
Kaitlin Johnston (Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater HS) to cut the lead to one at 3-2.
The scoring was stagnant for most of the rest of the second period, but Brook Story would find the net with just two and a half minutes left in the period on an assist from Katie Batters to make the UW-RF lead 4-2 at the second intermission.
The Falcons went on to score the only goal of the third period when Olson scored her fourth goal of the series on an assist from Alice Cranston to give UW-RF a 5-2 victory and weekend sweep of St. Scholastica in Duluth.
Sheridan Friesen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Ontario Hockey Academy) made 29 saves in the loss as her record falls to 1-1-0.
With the goal and assist, N. Waidacher stays in first on the team with nine points on four goals and five assists. M. Waidacher remains in second with her goal sitting at seven points on two goals and five assists.
The Saints (2-2-0, 2-2-0 NCHA) will be back on the ice next week when they host the Finlandia University Lions (0-5-1, 0-2-0 NCHA) at Mars Lakeview Arena for a weekend series with the first puck drop Friday at 7 p.m. The action can be seen live on GameCentral at csssaints.com.
