Women’s Hockey Gets First NCHA Victory

Box Score DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team picked up its first-ever Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) victory Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 triumph over Concordia University (Wis.) at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Saints (2-5-1, 1-4-1 NCHA) split the two-game series with the Falcons (2-6-0, 2-3-0 NCHA). CSS will not be at home again until January 11, 2011.

The lone goal of the game was scored by #Jordan Klimek#, her first of the season, on the power-play with 5:03 left in the second period. #Stephanie Lenz# had the assist.

The shots were even in the contest with team recording 15. #Rachel Borchardt# earned her second shutout of the season in net with 15 saves. Lea Jondal had 14 saves in the loss for the Falcons.

The Saints will have next weekend off for Thanksgiving and will be back in action on Saturday, December 4th when they head to Lower Michigan for a series against Adrian College. The action is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. local time.
