DULUTH, Minn. – University of Wisconsin-Superior's Kaiti Graham scored with 1:26 left in overtime to hand the St. Scholastica women's hockey team another one-goal loss Tuesday night, 3-2, at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The one-goal loss for the Saints (1-4-1, 0-3-1 NCHA) is the third this season and in all three games CSS led in the contest. Just last week Tuesday, the Yellowjackets (5-1-0, 4-0-0 NCHA) scored two goals in the third period to rally past the Saints 2-1.

Tonight, the Yellowjackets kept the pressure on CSS putting 41 shots on net. St. Scholastica goaltender #Rachel Borchardt# had 38 saves, the most by any Saint this season.

Even with UWS putting the puck on net, the Saints struck first when #Kristen Kilian# scored her first goal of the season from the point to make it 1-0 with nine minutes to go in the first period. #Jana Henry# had the assist. That was the score at the first intermission.

Superior evened up the contest 1:24 into the second period when Chelsey Wierschem picked up a loose puck in front of the net and put it in.

Four minutes later, following a great save by Borchardt, the Saints counter-attacked and #Ashley Deick# put in a nifty breakaway goal to put the Saints back up on top 2-1. #Stephanie Lenz# had the assist. The lead was short-lived as Wierschem added her second of the game off a rebound to tie it at 2-2 with 12 minutes left in the second period.

There would be no scoring the rest of regulation as Borchardt stopped the next 17 shots she saw and we went to overtime.

In the five-minute extra session it was all UWS. Borchardt kept the Saints in it, stopping the first five shots, but the final shot came on the breakaway and Graham sealed the game to make the final 3-2 Yellowjackets.

The Saints were out-shot 41-11 in the game. Amy Torgerson had nine saves in the win for UWS. Both teams were 0-for-5 on the power-play.

The Saints will be home for the final time during the 2010 calendar year when they host Concordia University (Wis.) on Friday and Saturday at Mars Lakeview Arena. Friday's game will be a rare Friday afternoon contest starting at 1 p.m. It can be seen live, courtesy of the iFan Sports Network, at csssaints.com.
