DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team fell to the Martin Luther College Knights 64-56 Friday night in Reif Gym at the Burns Wellness Commons.

The Saints fall to 7-10 overall this season and to 2-4 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Knights improve to 4-10 (2-4 UMAC).

An unpolished first half saw the Saints and Knights combine for 23 total fouls, and 22 turnovers, as both teams shot 33-percent from the field. CSS led the entire way in the first half, and held an eight-point lead with under four minutes to go after a #Katie Kimm# (Jr.- Mora, Minn.) 3-pointer. Martin Luther closed the gap to as little as two, but a #Taylor Fellbaum# (So.- Minong, Wis./Northwood) layup gave CSS a 31-27 lead at the half.

MLC took their first lead with 16 minutes to go in the second half, and led by five with 10 minutes left. The Saints came back to take a 50-49 lead with 4:27 remaining. The Knights then went on a 7-0 run, while the Saints were held without a field goal for nearly seven minutes. Fouls and timely free throws gave the Knights the lead for good. MLC went on to win 64-56.

The Knights shot 36-percent from the field in the second half, while the Saints shot 20-percent. The Knights also dominated the paint, scoring 30 total points in the post.
