NEW ULM, Minn. – The St. Scholastica football team was shutout in the first half today on its way to a 59-22 loss at Martin Luther College.
The Saints' season ends with a 4-6 overall record and a 2-2 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Knights win the UMAC North Division crown with a 7-3 overall record and a 4-0 conference-mark.

After CSS was forced to a three-and-out, Martin Luther went 85 yards down the field and scored on fourth-and-goal with a 1-yard touchdown run by Aaron Voss. The 2-point conversion was successful as the score was 14-0.
After another Saints punt, the Knights made it 22-0 on a Greg Holzhueter 8-yard touchdown scamper. Martin Luther scored on its next two possessions to extend the margin to 38-0.
The CSS defense held the Knights at the end of the first half, but fumbled the punt and gave it right back to Martin Luther. The Knights scored on the next play to make the halftime score 46-0.
The Saints had just two offensive plays on Martin Luther's side of the field in the first half.
CSS came out in the second half and kept on fighting as it took the opening possession and drove down the field and scored on a #Jake Olson# (

So.-Superior, Wis.) for the 2-point conversion to make it 46-8.
The Knights answered with a touchdown to make it 53-8, but the Saints also came back as #Christopher Henagin# (
Sr.-Cloquet, Minn.), playing in his final game, scored from a yard out to make it 53-14.
It was 59-14 with less than five minutes left in the game, when the Saints pulled out the bag of tricks as Henagin connected with #Mike VanMassenhove# (
So.-Superior, Wis.) for a 40-yard pass and catch. That set up a #Geoff Torzewski# (
Jr.-Superior, Wis.) 7-yard touchdown run to make the final score 59-22. That was Torzewski's first career touchdown.
The Knights out-gained the Saints 473-245 with the Knights rushing for 311 yards. The Saints punted a season-high seven times. CSS was just 1-for-10 on third downs.
Christopher Henagin (Cloquet, Minn./Fond du Lac) had a solid day on the ground in his final game in a Saints uniform as he rushed for 137 yards on 24 carries and one touchdown. He also had the 40-yard pass completion. Henagin finishes the season with 1,223 yards and 2,043 yards for his career and 22 touchdowns.
Jake Olson (Esko, Minn./Esko HS) was 6-of-17 for 58 yards through the air. #Tyler LeRoux# (

In just its second season the Saints upped their win total to four and were playing for a conference championship in the final game. CSS will look to continue that momentum into its third season and continue to build the program.
