MENOMONIE, Wis. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team fell to host, University of Wisconsin-Stout, 90-52 this evening at the Quality Inn & Suites Turkey Shootout at Johnson Fieldhouse.
The Saints are now 2-3 on the season, while the Blue Devils improve to 2-3. The Saints are 7-8 all-time against the Blue Devils. Stout has won six straight over CSS.
The Saints got up 3-0 early on an #Erin Morstad# (
So.-Fergus Falls, Minn.) 3-pointer. Stout then scored eight straight points to take an 8-3 lead. CSS cut it to 12-9, but the Blue Devils proceeded to go on a 13-0 run to go up 25-9. Stout had a pair of 9-0 runs after that to take a 43-20 halftime lead.
The Saints shot 26-percent in the first half, while the Blue Devils shot 49-percent. CSS matched their scoring out-put with 20 turnovers in the half.
The margin did not get below 21 points in the second half and got as high as 42 points as the Blue Devils cruised to a 90-52 victory.
The Saints shot 30-percent for the game, while the Blue Devils were 46-percent. Stout had a 44-35 advantage in rebounding. The Saints finished with 29 turnovers for the game.

Sr.-Superior, Wis.) had nine points to lead the Saints in scoring.
Erin Morstad (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls HS) and #Laura Amys# (
So.-South Range, Wis./Superior) both added seven points. Morstad also had a team-high seven rebounds and four assists. Julia Hirssig had a game-high 23 points for the Blue Devils.
The Saints will play Wartburg College, who fell to the College of St. Benedict in the other Shootout contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning.
