GRINNELL, Iowa – The St. Scholastica men's cross country team placed 20th out of 25 teams this afternoon at the NCAA Division III Central Regional meet, hosted by Grinnell College.

So.-Chaska, Minn.) paced the men's team finishing 94th overall out of 173 runners with a time of 27:14 seconds. #Tony Bye# (
So.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell) was 102nd overall with a time of 27:23 seconds. #Nick Mangan# (
Jr.-Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) finished right behind him in 103rd, posting a time of 27:25 seconds.
The final four Saints runners finished in between 150th and 160th overall. In 150th was #John Hunn# (
Fr.-Duluth, Minn./East) with a time of 29:27 seconds. #Glen Gross# (
Jr.-Hoyt Lakes, Minn./Mesabi East) was 153rd with a time of 29:33 seconds. #Jimmy Linn# (
So.-Anoka, Minn.) placed 159th with a time of 30:21 seconds and finishing 160th was #Adam Kollman# (
Jr.-Cold Spring, Minn./ROCORI) in a time of 30:22 seconds.
Teams receiving the automatic qualifiers from the region were the University of St. Thomas and Nebraska Wesleyan, whom tied for first with 116 points. St. Olaf College, Hamline University, and Grinnell College will be considered as at-large teams for the NCAA Championships next Saturday, hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College (Ohio). Official announcement will be made tomorrow.
The Saints men had solid season, which was capped off with an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship. The Saints will look to carry that momentum into next season.
