ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team struck first this afternoon, but it wasn't enough as the University of St. Thomas defeated the Saints 3-1 at South Field.

Fr.-Nottingham, England) had assists on the goal.
The Tommies tied the match less than three minutes later with a Mike Hutton goal. It was Hutton that scored again in the 15th minute for the Tommies on a direct kick to make the score 2-1 St. Thomas. The Tommies added another goal in the 56th minute to make the final score 3-1 in favor of St. Thomas.
The Tommies out-shot the Saints 19-15 in the match. Dacres and Bonnick were very aggressive for CSS with nine shots between them in the contest. #Sam Reed# (
Fr.-Eastbourne, England/Causeway) had five saves in the loss for the Saints.
The Saints fall to a record of 2-2-0 overall, while the Tommies improve to 6-0-0. The Saints fall to 1-6-0 all-time against the Tommies and have lost the last five meetings.
The Saints return home on Tuesday when they will host Concordia-Moorhead at 2 p.m. at Saints Field.
