GREEN BAY, Wis. – The St. Scholastica men's cross country team began its season today finishing fourth out of nine teams with 122 points at the Tom Barry Invitational hosted by St. Norbert College.
The host, St. Norbert, won with 42 points. Ripon College (Wis.) finished in second with 66 points and Carroll University (Wis.) was third with 88 points. Rounding out the top five behind the Saints was Concordia University (Wis.) with 141 points.
#Jake Turman# (Sr.-Duluth, Minn./Central) led the way for CSS finishing 11th overall with a time of 22:20. #Pat Bigaouette# (Fr.-Chaska, Minn.) finished 16th, posting a time of 22:39. #Tony Bye# (Fr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell) was 19th, finishing in a time of 22:50.
#Eric Boyles# (Fr.-Anoka, Minn.) was 41st with a time of 24:02 and #Glen Gross# (So.-Hoyt Lakes, Minn./Mesabi East) was 43rd with a time of 24:07. Right behind him in 44th was #John Bradshaw# (Jr.-Duluth, Minn./Central) with a time of 24:11. Finishing in 46th place was #Kyle Smith# (Sr.-Wright, Minn./Cromwell-Wright) with a time of 24:15.
The Saints will take part in the University of Minnesota-Duluth Invitational next Saturday, beginning at 11:15 a.m.
