Alex Aarestad leads 2nd place finisher and teammate Allison Walz down the backstretch of her winning 400m hurdle race at the 2008 outdoor conference championship.
Spurred on by eight first place finishes on Saturday at the 2008 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championships, the Saints women raced and leapt to their fourth consecutive outdoor title, outdistancing runner-up Minn.-Morris by 58 points.
Stacey Peterson (Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) captured the 400 meter dash title for St. Scholastica with a UMAC-record time of 1 minute, 00.07 seconds, setting the only conference mark for the Saints.

Double winners at the championship for the victors were
Alex Aarestad (Halstad, Minn./Oak Grove HS) and
Katelyn Meger (Webster, Minn./New Prague). Aarestad won both hurdles events, the 100m and 400m races, while Meger pulled ahead of 2
nd place teammate
Julia Curry (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) early in the 5000m run in her win and was part of the 1
st place 4x800m relay along with Curry,
Brittany Peterson (Carlton, Minn./Carlton HS), and Anne Drache.
Three different St. Scholastica women won field events at the meet as
Katelin Domitrovich (Ontonagon, Mich./Ontonagon HS) was first in the high jump,
Trissica Bye (Grasston, Minn./North Branch HS) snared the pole vault title, and
Erin Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) won the triple jump.
Minn.-Morris' Megan Croatt was named the Women's Performer of the Meet.
