AARESTAD SETS NEW TEAM MARK AT LAST CHANCE MEET

In her final meet of the 2008 season, Alex Aarestad broke another team record, this one coming at the Last Chance meet at Wis.-LaCrosse on Thursday.

In the last meet of the outdoor season for the Saints, one more record took a hit as Alex Aarestad (Halstad, Minn./Oak Grove HS) set a new personal best with a St. Scholastica record in theh 400-meter hurdles.

Aarestad's eighth place time of 1 minute, 7.34 seconds at the Wis.-LaCrosse Last Chance Meet on Thursday eclipsed the old CSS mark by nearly a second.

Teammate Stacey Peterson (Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) raced to a sixth place finish in the 400m dash in a time of 1:00.22 and finished 12th in the 200 with a final time of 27.21 seconds.

The Last Chance meet, usually the week after a conference meet, is set up to provide athletes with one final chance to achieve an automatic or provisional mark for the NCAA Division III national championship meet..
