The Saints (14-5) earned all three points in doubles against the (Fall 2007) WIAC runner-up then captured four of six singles matches to clinch the match victory over Eau Claire (11-7).
Sophomores
Katie Motley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS),
Natalie Urick (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS), and
Angela Shields (Pengilly, Minn./Greenway HS) each won in straight sets at, respectively, No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Junior
Katrina Sacchetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia Secondary) won the first set from her Blugold opponent at No. 4 but dropped the second, eventually earning the win with a third set super tie-break victory.
Motley's and Sacchetti's victories were their second of the day after picking up points in doubles. Motley and
Paula Beckermann (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) took an 8-6 win at No. 1 while Sacchetti and
