The Saints were nearly flawless in their 9-0 win over visiting Martin Luther College on Saturday afternoon, taking all six singles matches without dropping a game while losing only three games on the way to a trio of doubles victories.

In their second conference match of the day in the Burns Wellness Commons, St. Scholastica (13-5, 4-0 UMAC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Knights (0-4, 0-2 UMAC) after doubles action.

When singles play began the Saints knocked off their Martin Luther opponents in straight sets with ease.

Casey Ruberto (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold HS) rolled to her second win of the day at No. 2 singles, while Angela Shields (Pengilly, Minn./Greenway HS), Danni Sonnenfeld (Harris, Minn./North Branch HS), and Katie Kuitunen (Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) also picked up a second win by rolling at, respectively, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 singles against Martin Luther.

Katie Motley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) at No. 1 and Lynnae Wilke (Parkers Prairie, Minn./Parkers Prairie HS) at No. 4 played their first singles matches of the day in the Martin Luther match and each also came away with wins without dropping a game.

The two UMAC victories on the day improved the Saints' all-time regular season UMAC record to a perfect 57-0
