The Saints got a dominating performance from their players in an early morning match against visiting Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday, crushing the Vikings by a 9-0 score in a conference match that began at 8 a.m. in the Burns Wellness Commons.

St. Scholastica (12-5, 3-0 UMAC) cruised to a 3-0 lead over Bethany (1-5, 1-2 UMAC) after the three doubles matches then were nearly perfect in singles action winning all six matches in straight sets.

Paula Beckermann (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) at No. 1 and Casey Ruberto (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold HS) at No. 2 singles each won their matches without losing a game while No. 3 Natalie Urick (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS), Angela Shields (Pengilly, Minn./Greenway HS) at No. 4, and Danni Sonnenfeld (Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) at No. 5 each dropped only one game in their victories.

The Saints will have the rest of the morning off before welcoming Martin Luther College for another conference match beginning after the Saints men finish their match against Bethany.
