The middle day of a three day weekend in which the women will play four matches in three different cities got off to a winning start with the Saints' 9-0 win over host Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn., on Saturday morning.

St. Scholastica (16-6, 6-0 UMAC) -- 6-3 winners on Friday night at Northwestern College --rolled to a quick start in the match, taking all three doubles matches by rolling over their Knights opponents without losing more than two games in any of the three Saints victories.

Five of six singles matches went to the Saints including 6-0, 6-0 wins by both Katrina Sacchetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia Secondary) at 3-singles and Angela Shields (Pengilly, Minn./Greenway HS) at 4-singles.

At 6-singles, Katie Kuitunen (Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) rallied from a first set loss to capture the second and third sets and complete the shutout match victory.

The Saints take to the road for their second match of the day with an afternoon match scheduled in Mankato, Minn., against Bethany Lutheran College.
