The Saints seem to be making the best of their time when they actually do head to a meet this spring, finally getting their chances and making the best of them in between the up and down weather that's plagued the region.

Stacey Peterson (Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) had a strong outing in Saturday's Manitou Classic hosted by St. Olaf in Northfield, Minn., setting a new school record in one individual event while racing to a top-8 finish in another.

In the 400 meter dash, Peterson broke the old CSS mark by .78 seconds racing to a 6th place finish in a time of 1 minute, 0.53 seconds. She finished 8th in the 200 with a clocking of 27.41 seconds.

Peterson was also part of two relays that cracked the top eight as she anchored the team of Briana Beilke (Sauk Centre, Minn./Sauk Centre HS), Katie Rockwell (Park Falls, Wis./Park Falls HS), and Trissica Bye (Grasston, Minn./North Branch HS) to a 6th place finishing time of 52.12 seconds in the 4x100m relay, than anchored  the 8th place 4x400m relay squad of Beilke, Julia Curry (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS), and Alex Aarestad (Halstad, Minn./Oak Grove HS) as the quartet raced to a time of 4:13.90.

The final top-8 finish on the track came from Katelyn Meger (Webster, Minn./New Prague) whose time of 18:49.34 was good for a 4th place finish.

In the high jump event, a pair of Saints had strong efforts as Kaitlin Domitrovich cleared a height of 1.51m to finish 2nd and Erin Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was 5th with a final height of 1.46m.
