The Saints kept their stranglehold on the top spot in the UMAC standings with a 9-0 defeat of host Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday morning in Mankato, Minn.

The victory not only pushed their current conference mark to 6-0 but increases their win streak in regular season UMAC matches to 64 in a row. For the season the Saints are 12-8 while Bethany falls to 1-11 and 1-6 within the conference.

Two Saints doubles teams racked up 8-0 wins to start the day and the third almost made it three for three but had to settle for an 8-1 win.

Scott Hawley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and Brendan Anderson (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) at 1-doubles and the 3-doubles pairing of Peter Sparby (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View HS) and Brady Vidovic (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) each blanked their Vikings opponents while Will Ruckel (Anoka, Minn./Anoka Senior HS) and Ryan LaCoursiere (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) lost only one game in their win at 2-doubles.

LaCoursiere (3-singles), Ruckel (4-singles), and Anderson (6-singles) were two-time winners on the day, each closing out singles victories by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.

The Saints take to the road following their morning stop in Mankato for an afternoon match in New Ulm against UMAC opponent Martin Luther College. They then close out the regular season on Sunday with a conference match at Minnesota-Morris.
