A pair of CSS relay records fell on a relatively calm Thursday afternoon at the rescheduled Bulldog Open in Malosky Stadium.

Weather problems have played havoc with spring sports in the region, forcing UMD to push their meet back two days which left the Saints free to attend the Cobber Twilight this past Tuesday before taking to the Malosky track two days later.

The mostly calm day (finally) allowed for a number of strong St. Scholastica performances led by the pair of relay records.

Brianna Beilke, Katie Rockwell (Park Falls, Wis./Park Falls HS), Trissica Bye (Grasston, Minn./North Branch HS), and Stacy Peterson teamed up for a school record time of 51.86 seconds in the 4 x 100 meter relay. The quartet's time was the third fastest at the meet. Beilke, Alex Aarestad (Halstad, Minn./Oak Grove HS), Peterson, and Meghan McMahan raced to a 4th place finish in the 4x200m relay setting a new CSS mark with a finishing time of 1 minute, 52.81 seconds.

Aarestad had the highest individual finish on the day for the Saints posting a 2nd place time of 16.61 seconds in the 100m hurdles.

Two other relay teammates registered high finishes at the meet as McMahon was 3rd in the 200m (28.36s) and 4th in the 100m (13.66) while Rockwell as right behind finishing 5th in the 100m (13.76) race.

Middle-distance runner Julia Curry (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS), an All-UMAC selection in cross country this past fall, finished 7th in the 800m, clocking 2:25.83.

The Saints will head to their third meet within a five day span when they travel to St. Olaf on Saturday (4/19) for the Manitou Classic.
