St. Scholastica ran their win streak to five with Wednesday's early morning 9-0 victory over the Queen Bees from St. Ambrose (Iowa) University.
Two of three doubles victories for the Saints were challenging matches as Paula Beckermann (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) and Katie Motley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) teamed up for an 8-6 at No. 1 and Casey Ruberto (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold HS) and Katrina Sacchetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia Secondary) paired together for an 8-6 win at No. 2.
Megan Carlson (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) and Kelly Ross (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) had a much easier time at No. 3 with an 8-2 victory over their Queen Bees opponents.
Singles play was much more to the Saints advantage as they won all six matches in straight sets and only twice in 12 winning sets did the Bees even get as close as 6-4 in defeat.
The win in Orlando improves St. Scholastica's season record to 7-2 on the year.
