Earlier in the day St. Scholastica's three-match win streak was put to rest with a narrow 5-4 loss to St. Ambrose (Iowa) but they bounced back in the Orlando sun to rout the Panthers from Ferrum (Va.) College 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon and hopefully start another win streak.

The Saints swept through doubles play with three wins to take a quick 3-0 lead over the Panthers.

Scott Hawley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and Brendan Anderson (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) at No. 1, and Will Ruckel (Anoka, Minn./Anoka Senior HS) and Ryan LaCoursiere (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) at No. 2 each took easy 8-0 wins to get the ball rolling.

Hawley was a double-winner on the day as he picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kenny Kadar of Ferrum at No. 2 singles.

Anderson matched Hawley's day with his own win in singles, taking the No. 6 match over Ferrum's Matt Mellone by a 6-1, 6-3 score.

St. Scholastica (6-7) creeps closer to the .500 mark on the season with the win while Ferrum (0-3) still searches for their first win of the year.
