In their second game of the day in the hot Texas sun, the Saints dropped a close 4-2 decision to the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon on the home field of the Crusaders.

Saints starter Mary Jo McNamee (Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba Senior HS) (0-3) allowed only one earned run on three hits in six innings of work but took the loss for St. Scholastica who fell to 0-5 on the year.

Dallas got on the scoreboard first with three unearned runs in the bottom of the first before Michaela Carlson (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson Senior HS) slammed her third home run of the season, a 2-run shot, to close the gap to 3-2.

The Crusaders' Michaela Coghlan would allow only one CSS base-runner over the next four and a third innings to shut down the Saints offense while her team scored an insurance run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth.

Dallas improves to 4-6 with the victory.
