Fatigue from their second match in as many days, this one on the road, certainly wasn't a factor in Sunday's crushing 8-1 defeat of the host Beavers from Bemidji State.
The Saints (4-2) swept through doubles play without a loss then took five of six singles matches to complete the rout.
Katie Motley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) picked up a pair of wins on the day, first with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles with partner Paula Beckermann (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS), and then on her own at No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Bemidji's Jule Kapsner.
Casey Ruberto (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold HS) and Lynnae Wilke (Parkers Prairie, Minn./Parkers Prairie HS) also added multiple wins on the day. Ruberto shut out Kristen Lexcen 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles after having teamed up with Katrina Sacchetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia Secondary) at No. 2 doubles for an 8-1 win, while Wilke won with Brooke Aho (Long Prairie, Minn./Long Prairie) at No. 3 doubles then captured a three-setter at No. 6 singles.
Natalie Urick (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) at No. 4 singles and Angela Shields (Pengilly, Minn./Greenway HS) at No. 5 earned the other two wins for the Saints.
