St. Scholastica was unable to clinch the game in overtime after being tied at halftime and the end of regulation in the final game of the regular season against the visiting Northland LumberJills. The Saints played even through the first 40 minutes but fell 73-67 in overtime.

The Saints rallied back throughout the game including an individual run of 12 straight points by senior Whitney Latham (Clear Lake, Minn./Becker HS) in her final career game for the Saints. St. Scholastica (9-15, 5-9 UMAC) shot under 37 percent from the field while Northland (14-12, 10-4 UMAC) shot better than 43 percent which helped them to the win.

St. Scholastica staged their first rally after failing to score in the opening six minutes of the game until a Katie Kimm (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) lay-up got them on the board. Following Kimm's lay-up Latham poured in 12 of her 16 first half points to give the Saints a 14-12 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the half.

The other Saints began to find their stroke as the lead was built into a 26-18 score with 4:24 remaining. The Jills answered back, however, to tie the game at 30 with a last second 3-pointer going into the break. The Saints were plagued by turnovers as they had 11 in the first half.

The second half was tight throughout but the Saints found themselves down by three with only 9.7 seconds remaining. With the possibility to ice the game on the line, Northland's Lindsey Hamm missed the second of two foul shots to give the Saints hope.

Senior Ashley Lubbers (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls Community HS) (4 points, 7 rebounds) playing in her final game in a Saints uniform grabbed the rebound and found Kirsten Haukom (Marshall, Minn./Marshall HS) on a quick outlet who dribbled down court and made a desperation three-pointer that tied the game at 59, sending her bench into delirium and the game it into overtime.

Unfortunately for the Saints Northland was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field in the second half as they pulled away and won 73-67 in the final game of the 2007-08 season for the Saints.

Senior night was an impressive one for Latham who scored a game high 25 points and pulled down seven rebounds. She was helped by Haukom (15 points), Kimm (8 points) and Alexa Leighton (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) (8 points).

Northland, second in the league standings, was led by Hamm (21 points), Chelsea Lundgren (19 points, 13 rebounds) and Laura Fisher (11 points).
