Visiting St. Thomas University (2-0) picked up an 8-1 win over St. Scholastica (2-6) on Sunday afternoon in the Burns Wellness Commons.
Nemanja Radosevic (New Belgrade, Serbia/Duluth Central HS) notched the lone win for the Saints with a straight set 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles over Josh Tomashek from St. Thomas.
The Tommies won each of the other five singles matches in straight sets.
Doubles action that started the day was much closer between the two teams.
Though the Saints dropped all three doubles matches, Scott Hawley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and Brendan Anderson (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) fell 7-9, while Ryan LaCoursiere (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) and Will Ruckel (Anoka, Minn./Anoka Senior HS) lost 6-8 at No. 3. Radosevic and Peter Sparby (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View HS) dropped the No. 1 doubles match by a 5-8 score.
