For the second match in a row the women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory, improving their season record to 2-1.

Saturday's victims were the host Pipers from Hamline Univeristy (0-2) on their courts in Walker Fieldhouse.

St. Scholastica swept through the three doubles matches dropping only a total of eight games between the three victories that staked the Saints to a quick 3-0 lead.

Singles action was even more dominating as three of the six St. Scholastica victories were, or nearly were, shutouts.

Casey Ruberto (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold HS), a winner at No. 2 doubles with Katrina Sacchetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia Secondary), rolled over Hamline's Sara Mitambo 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. At No. 5 singles, Natalie Urick (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) routed Ashley Johnson 6-1, 6-0, and Angela Shields (Pengilly, Minn./Greenway HS) pulled the shut-out with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 over the Pipers' Kate Burnevik.

Sacchetti at No. 4, Katie Motley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) -- a winner at No. 1 doubles with teammate Paula Beckermann (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) -- at No. 1, and Beckermann at No. 2 singles each won in straight sets.

The other match win was the 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles by Kelly Ross (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) and Megan Carlson (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS).
