DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica hockey team played a strong first half of hockey, but the No. 1 team in the country, the St. Norbert College Green Knights, held them off long enough to earn a 3-0 victory at Mars Lakeview Arena to remain undefeated on the season.
Goaltender #Steve Bounds# (Sr.-Airdie, Alta.) stood on his head between the pipes on his way to making 34 saves for CSS, edging out Green Knights goalie Blake Bashor by three shots who earned a shutout and his fourth win of the season. Bounds falls to 4-3-1 on the season in net.
CSS had plenty of chances in the first and third periods, outshooting St. Norbert 22-18 over the initial and final frames, but second-period turnovers proved to be costly for the Saints as the Knights went up 2-0.
