GRINNELL, Iowa – The St. Scholastica men's cross country team placed 22nd out of 26 teams today at the NCAA Division III Central Regional held at Oakland Acres Golf Course, hosted by Grinnell College.
Senior #Jake Turman# (Sr.-Duluth, Minn./Central) led the Saints finishing 92nd overall with a time of 27:54. Freshman #Tony Bye# (Fr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell) was 141st overall with a time of 29:31. #Glen Gross# (So.-Hoyt Lakes, Minn./Mesabi East) was third-fastest CSS runner with a time of 30:33 and placed 153rd overall. #Kyle Smith# (Sr.-Wright, Minn./Cromwell-Wright) ran a time of 30:59 and placed 159th overall. #John Bradshaw# (Jr.-Duluth, Minn./Central) was 162nd overall with a time of 31:15.
Nebraska Wesleyan won the regional with 130 points. St. John's (Minn.) was second with 139 points. Those two teams receive the automatic-bids to the NCAA Division III Championships next week in Hanover, Ind. St. Olaf College was third with 148 points and Grinnell College was fourth with 167 points. Loras College rounded out the top five with 182 points. Those three teams will be considered for at-large bids for the NCAA Championships. The NCAA Division III Championship field will be posted on NCAA.com tomorrow afternoon.
