DULUTH, Minn. – #Dustin James# (So.-Superior, Wis.) scored with less than four minutes left in the second overtime giving the St. Scholastica men's soccer team a 1-0 victory this afternoon over Presentation College at Saints Field.

St. Scholastica improves to 9-3-0 overall and 6-1-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Presentation falls to 3-4-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the UMAC. CSS is now 12-1-0 all-time against Presentation, including 8-0 at home.

Both teams had chances to put a number on the scoreboard as CSS's #Brandon Stemwedel# (Fr.-Grand Rapids, Minn.) hit the crossbar in the first half. Presentation had a chance near the end of the first half on a corner kick, but CSS goalkeeper #Zach Schneider# (So.-Duluth, Minn./Marshall) stopped a header and then a rebound shot to maintain the scoreless match. Presentation out-shot CSS 5-4 in the first half.

Presentation hit the crossbar early in the second half and CSS had a ball hit the post late in the second half, but neither team scored after 90 minutes of play, so the match went to overtime. St. Scholastica out-shot Presentation 12-1 in the second half.

In the first overtime, CSS had the best opportunity when #Jermaine Dacres# (So.-Nottingham, England/Haywood Comp.) had a header deflect off the Presentation goalkeeper and once again off the crossbar. In the second overtime, CSS finally broke though when Dustin James (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) hit a long crossing shot past the goalkeeper as CSS took the match 1-0. #Asos Amin# (Fr.-Vasteras, Sweden) had the assist. It was James' second goal this season; both have been game-winning goals.

St. Scholastica had a 23-7 shot advantage. Zach Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Marshall School) had two saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season as he has not allowed a goal 470 minutes this season. Joe Romero had 11 saves in the loss for Presentation.

The Saints will be in action next on Friday when it hosts Bethany Lutheran College. That match is scheduled to begin at approximately 2 p.m. following the women's match at Saints Field.
