DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team narrowly defeated the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars by a score of 1-0 on Saints Field on Homecoming Saturday in Duluth.

Fr.-Eastbourne, England/Causeway School) was undoubtedly the star of the game, making six saves including several crucial blocks within the closing moments of the contest as he earned his second collegiate shutout.
Another freshman, #Brandon Stemwedel# (
Grand Rapids, Minn.) made the key play for the Saints offense, knocking in the only goal after dribbling around a defender to slip a ball right past the diving Morris 'keeper. #Toby Peter# (

So.-Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) were awarded the assists.
St. Scholastica finished with eight shots on goal while the Cougars aimed seven on net. Nine players had shots for the Saints, who improve to 8-3-0 overall with a 5-1-0 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference mark. The Cougars fall to 9-2-0 overall (4-1-0 UMAC) after the loss.
The Saints will be in action again tomorrow when they host another UMAC rival, Presentation College, at noon on Saints Field.
