ABERDEEN, S.D. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team won its third straight match by a sweep tonight with a 3-0 victory over Presentation College.
CSS improves to 7-9 overall and 3-1 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Presentation remains winless this season with a 0-12 overall record and a 0-3 UMAC record. St. Scholastica is now 16-0 all-time against Presentation.
The Saints had 12 kills in the first set to take it by a score of 25-21. CSS increased its kill total in the second set to 14 to win that set by a score of 25-19. The Saints then trailed in the third set, but rallied to take the set and win the match by a score of 25-20. St. Scholastica had 15 kills in the third set.
#Amy Thompson# (Sr.-Onamia, Minn.), #Dustie Richardson# (Sr.-Grand Rapids, Minn./Greenway), and #Shawna Varichak# (Sr.-Hibbing, Minn.) all had nine kills to lead the Saints. #Caitlin Aten# (Fr.-Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) had 33 assists and #Cassie Roden# (Sr.-Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral) had 24 digs.
The Saints will be in action again next Friday when they play at Bethany Lutheran College. That match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
