ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team got back in the win column with a 3-0 victory tonight at Crown College.

The Saints are 12-11 overall and 8-3 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Crown falls to 2-18 overall and 0-10 in conference play. The Saints are now 18-0 all-time against the Storm.

The first set was the closest of the night as both teams had 12 kills. The Saints trailed 16-9 in the set, but roared back to win by a score of 25-22. CSS jumped out to an early lead in the second set and won by a score of 25-12. The Saints would take the third set by an identical score to take the match.

#Dustie Richardson# (Sr.-Grand Rapids, Minn./Greenway) had a team-high 11 kills for the Saints. Richardson also had four block solos and four block assists. #Shawna Varichak# (Sr.-Hibbing, Minn.) and #Amy Thompson# (Sr.-Onamia, Minn.) each added 10 kills.

#Caitlin Aten# (Fr.-Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) had 34 set assists, and #Cassie Roden# (Sr.-Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral) had a team-high 12 digs. #Erin Niles# (Sr.-Grand Rapids, Minn.) broke the school record for career block assists tonight as she had one block assist to give her 265 for her career.

The Saints will be on the road again on Wednesday when they play at Northland College. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
