SAINTS MEN TIE NORTHWESTERN AS OFFENSE QUIETS

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The College of St. Scholastica men's soccer team could not earn revenge against Northwestern College, the only UMAC team to defeat CSS this year, playing the Eagles to a scoreless tie this afternoon.  

The Saints, who averaged four goals per game in their past three conference contests, were hold to five shots, with none coming past the end of regulation. #Greg Doornink# (So.-Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) made the lone shot on net for the Saints.

The Eagles took 12 shots during regulation, while mustering five more during the overtime periods.

 

Goaltender #Sam Reed# (Fr.-Eastbourne, England/Causeway School) made six saves in preserving the shutout for the Saints.

 

Officials handed out 36 fouls and six cautions during the game, including a red card to #Asos Amin# (Fr.-Vasteras, Sweden) in the 107th minute.

 

The Saints return to action in a week, taking on Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D. next Friday night at 3 p.m., immediately following the women's game.
