The three scoring St. Scholastica skiers in Saturday's 5-kilometer Freestyle race at the CCSA Qualifier held in Marquette, Mich., all finished in the top-30 of the 60+ racer field and within 10 seconds of each other to push the Saints to an 8th place finish at the second NCAA qualifying meet of the season.

Sophomore Megan Holmes (Gilbert, Minn./Mesabi East HS), despite skiing with a shoulder injury sustained in racing last weekend, led the trio of Saints with a time of 20 minutes, 25.1 seconds, good enough for a 24th place finish.

Freshman Julia Curry (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) was 26th in 20:31.9 while fellow newcomer Lindsay Wallis (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) was just behind in 27th with a time of 20:35.4.

St. Scholastica's 8th place total of 30 points trailed St. Olaf and St. Benedict who tied for 6th with 38 points. Northern Michigan finished first with 85 points.

Head coach Chad Salmela's squad will take to the trails again on Sunday for the 10K Classic.
