After falling behind 1-0 on a St. Olaf short-handed score in the first period, the Saints rallied with three unanswered goals on their way to a 4-2 victory on Saturday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Shawn Bartlette (East Grand Forks, Minn./Bismark (NAHL)) evened the score for St. Scholastica (5-9-2) with a quick flip into the top shelf from just right of the goal only 1:44 before the first intermission. Jeff Gagnon (Quesnel, British Columbia/Victoria (BCHL)) sent the puck across the crease from the left corner to set up Bartlette's third score of the year.

Early in the second, forward Joey Martini (Calgary, Alberta/Canmore (AJHL)) gave the Saints a 2-1 lead with an unassisted goal, then Simren Sandhu (Calgary, Alta./Calgary Canucks) added another score less than three minutes later to stake the Saints to a 3-1 lead over the Oles (5-7-2).

The visitors snuck a power play goal behind St. Scholastica netminder Steve Bounds (Airdrie, Alberta/Powell River (BCHL)) at the 6:03 mark of the third but Kyle Luschinski (Headingley, Manitoba/Waywayseecappo (MJHL)) netted a wrap-around goal into the bottom left corner 89 seconds later to push the Saints lead back to two.

Bounds picked up the win in goal for the Saints, stopping 24 of 26 shots. Jake Busch took the loss for St. Olaf as he also registered 24 saves on the night.

Along with Gagnon, notching assists on the night for the Saints were Neil Sauter (Superior, Wis./Superior HS (Lincoln-USHL) ) and Joey Martini (Calgary, Alberta/Canmore (AJHL)) on the Sandhu goal, and Jordan Baird (Port McNeill, British Columbia/Victoria (BCHL)) on the Luschinski score.
