St. Scholastica dropped their sixth game in a row with Friday night's 74-56 loss to Northwestern College at the Ericksen Center in St. Paul.

The Saints (3-9 overall, 1-1 UMAC) and Eagles (7-6, 2-0 UMAC) exchanged the lead seven times in the first half, but a 14-5 stretch over the final 6:20 took a 28-26 Northwestern lead to an 11 point margin at the intermission.

In the second half the Saints could pull no closer than eight points behind as Northwestern exacted a bit of revenge after falling to these Saints in overtime last year in the UMAC tournament final on the same floor.

Brady Zubke (Laporte, Minn./Park Rapids Area HS) led the Saints with 14 points while Jesse Taylor (Superior, Wis./Maranatha Academy) had a team-high eight rebounds in the losing effort.

Daniel Hanson of Northwestern led all scorers with 19 points in the win and brother Stephen had a game-high 11 boards for the Eagles.

The Saints stay on the road Saturday with a late afternoon game at Crown College, 73-60 winners over visiting Northland College on Friday night.
