A quartet of Saints in the top-13 pushed the team to a season-opening first place finish at the Tom Barry Invitational Saturday morning in Green Bay, Wis.
First-year runners Julia Curry (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) (3rd place) and Jessie Lovering (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) (7th) led the Saints across the 5 kilometer race course's finish line with returnees Brittany Peterson (Carlton, Minn./Carlton HS) (Sr., 12th), Tara Connolly (River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) (So., 13th), and Megan Salo (Houghton, Mich./Houghton HS) (So., 23rd) rounding out the scoring places as the Saints accumulated 58 points to easily outdistance runner up Carroll College's 87 points.
The win for the reigning and six-time UMAC champion Saints was their third consecutive Tom Barry victory in a row.
